Invitation: 2026 Hereford Youth Development Forum | 17–19 April, Gore
Hi everyone,
We’re excited to invite all youth aged 10–25 to the 2026 Hereford Youth Development Forum, being held from 17–19 April in Gore. This weekend is all about building skills, confidence, and connections for young people passionate about beef and agriculture.
The forum will include a mix of hands-on activities, industry exposure, and practical learning opportunities, including:
• Stockjudging • A meat production plant tour • A Hereford stud visit • A dairy herd tour with a focus on Hereford influence • A look into on-farm technology, including halter systems
Alongside the tours, there will be modules focusing on farm safety, genetics and EBVs, traceability, and marketing.
The Hereford Youth Development Forum is a great way to meet other young people in the sector, build friendships, and grow your network. Past forums have been a lot of fun!
This event is open to all youth - you do not need to be associated with Herefords or any breed organisation — just a genuine interest in beef and agriculture.
Information regarding cost, catering, accommodation, and flights can all be found on the registration form. Registration link: https://forms.gle/uiXsc7U39hExxX1n9
Running alongside the forum will be the Herdsperson Award, with an opportunity to win $500 to go towards your next ‘youth’ farming goal, designed to help identify and encourage future leaders within the youth cohort. This is free to enter as an add-on to the forum and will include a short interview and some additional judging across the weekend. You can sign up to this on the day!
