Bill farms on his own on heavy soils of coastal
Northland and is feeling pressure from the increased
planting of pine trees around him. He predominantly
Spring calves and views carcass quality extremely
important with the increased choice of protein sources
available to consumers. He looks for good IMF (marbling)
and great temperament when selecting bulls.

For those people who have met Bill they will know
that he is a charming gentleman. He recently bought
a computer and plans to be electronically recording
next year. When I informed him he would be Member of
the Month on Facebook he told me he hasn’t got onto
Facebook yet, but when he does he won’t’ have time
to farm as he’ll be ‘scrolling’ through the posts. I loved
spending time with Bill at the Waimaire and Otengi sale,
his body may be aging but his brain is certainly not! He’s
an inspiration to us all and a much loved member of the
Hereford family.

So join us in a cheers to Bill for all that he has done for
the breed over the years.
