Tribute to Colin Corney

President 2018 / 2019 / 2020

So today in Herefords, it’s the end of a reign
The awesome Colin, elpresidente departs his domain
Our leader, the boss, at the top, at the helm
Who’s been trying to wrangle the Hereford realm

Who knew a former jockey could reach such a height
But to be fair, he’s no fool, he’s actually quite bright
You need all your wits to lead that council lot
Cause you are stuck with them, you gotta work with what you got

Your tenure has been marked by a challenge or two
Conferences and covid to name but a few
Thank goodness for Colin to lead through the mire
He most certainly does deserve to retire

And we certainly can’t forget to mention Sue
Who lived through the ups and downs, like all wives do
She sacrificed heaps of things for the good of the breed
She’s done a wonderful job, she deserves to be freed.

He’s not leaving the council - we can sigh with relief
He’s got plenty more to offer for Hereford Beef
Professionalism and passion, and hard work through and through
Also, dedication, innovation and being a good buggar too.

So if you were to describe Colin as a Hereford sire
He has good temperament, low birth weight, all you require
He’d be a leader in the breed with outstanding EBVs
He’s an easy doing bloke with great pedigree.

So Colin, we thank you for all you have done
We hope on the way that you’ve had some fun
You’ve done your self proud and we’d just like to say
Good luck, you’ll need it, you’re now stuck with Gray.
