rate for the first year and hopes that will increase in coming years.
To enter, children from preschool through to high school age
submit a 100-word story about their calf, along with photos.
There are two categories – social and formal. The social section
is simply an online entry and the general public can vote. For
the formal category, judges around the country travel to farms
to judge entries in the flesh.

day before, which took away a lot of the excitement.
