know if we sold every animal on the farm, but does know
every blocked culvert and drain. He will be our builder and
contractor, and is just hankering for a digger. Millie is two. She
has a remarkable resemblance to Donnie (the feral one) from
the [animated comedy] Wild Thornberrys. Lance and I were

breed, says his new owner, Stuart Robbie of Otapawa Poll Durkin; Ian is chairman of Herefords Australia.
Herefords.
“Egloo is developing into a truly awesome bull and we’re
excited to have him in our sire team.”
He’s due to have wider influence after a glowing report on
Otapawa’s Facebook page.
“Tawanui Egloo would have to be the most satisfying
purchase of a sire for the Otapawa herd since Studbrook
Dartagnion almost 20 years ago,” the Facebook post said in
early December. “Egloo has so much quality, performance and
constitution added with the great Otapawa Spot 8042 cow in
his pedigree. [We are] looking forward to using him over some
of Otapawa’s finest cows.”
Within a few days of that post, Stuart reported semen
enquiries from three prominent studs in Australia and top
UK herd, Solpoll, in Ireland. Less than a fortnight later, Stuart
negotiated Tawanui Egloo’s Australian semen rights to the Tawanui Egloo has a new home at Otapawa Poll Herefords.
