          In the dairy heartland of the Waikato prices and clearances
       remained at the strong levels of previous seasons. Hukaroa had
       an average of $2619 on 68 yearling bulls and $4995 on two-
       year-olds, while Kokonga Hereford’s on-farm sale saw 44 bulls
       sell to a top of $7000 to Kaipara Herefords and an average of
       $2861. Kairaumati Herefords sold a strong catalogue of yearling
       bulls at $2611 average and 18-month-old bulls to an improved
       average of $3773, and the Port family at Bushy Downs
       Herefords sold 66 two-year-old bulls to a top of $3700 and an
       average of $3140, alongside a selection of 26 top yearling bulls
       who sold to top $4000 and average $2740. In the Bay of Plenty,
       Charwell Herefords sold a full catalogue of more than 100 bulls
       at an average of $2800 on the two-year-old bulls in the offering.
       Further down the island and into Taranaki, Bexley Herefords had
       another good sale with a top price of $3700 and an average of
