proud of the welcoming feel of their sale, which was always a
“total team effort”.
Lisa grew up on a dairy farm with a Holstein-Friesian stud
and met Dean in 1990 through Young Farmers.
“We had a lot of fun and met a lot of cool people. We also did
a lot of showing, following the local shows. It was a good way
to promote your cattle and measure them up against others.
Camaraderie was always good too,” they laugh.

Hukaroa Stud is one of the larger registered studs and is farmed along
the Hapuakohe Ranges, which ranges from 60 metres to over 400 metres.
